Attitude is Everything
When you commence your own business, no matter what you decide to do, attitude is everything. You either have the right attitude to succeed, or you don’t. There really is no in-between. You are either selfish or giving. You either give service, or you use others. There is no use working on personal development if you are only doing it simply to improve yourself. You must also want to offer service of some kind to the world, for without this aspect to your thinking, all the rest is limited.
My teacher has taught me that you need to develop a love for humanity if you want to do well in this world, no matter what you do or how you make your money. It’s very important to be warm and kind towards others, and to seek to support them in all you do. It will work against you if you only ever see people as a way to help you out, or as a means for you to make money. There must be a genuine love in your heart for all living things if you are going to do well in life and in all areas, not just money.
I recently listened to a very famous Network Marketer (the female half of a husband and wife team who have gone to Crown Ambassador in the company they are with) and she spoke of what success means to her. Unfortunately, she didn’t speak of kindness or tenderness, or love towards others. She spoke of ethics, of keeping your commitments, and of working hard, but those are only half of the equation. They are the action-oriented half, but they have nothing to do with the feeling of love towards others, and in the end it’s the feelings that you exude which will attract people to you, is it not? If you are hard and cold, and rigid in your feelings, people will sense that within you and will not be drawn to you. But if you are warm and loving (and they feel safe around you), then they will come from miles around just to be part of what you are creating and doing.
So, one small way to develop that feeling of being kind and warm-hearted is to do this: each time you are out and about and you see people walking towards you, silently say ‘love’ at them and visualise putting flowers in their heart. Really mean to send them love. Don’t just go through the motions. Muster up the love and send it from your heart. Over the course of time this will help develop a real love in your own heart for humanity, which will warm your whole energy field and make you a much kinder and more compassionate person. Of course, it is not the only thing that needs to be done to develop an open and loving heart, but it is one of the ways to get there. Learn to give without expecting anything in return so that your whole energy field starts to expand in a wider way. It’s in the breadth of your heart that you start to be able to have and be everything.
Please note that I’m not advocating having no boundaries here – that is not what I am saying. We all still need to set some boundaries in our lives, otherwise people will walk all over us. This is especially true for women who have been abused or are still currently being abused. When you need to say no, then it’s fine to say no, but when someone requires your help you should do your best to help them to help themselves. By that I mean that there’s no need to give them money, however, if you can lend a listening ear if they need to talk, or if they need to borrow a book you should just give it to them and not expect it back. You have to develop selflessness if you are to succeed when running any kind of business, but be careful to also love, honour and respect yourself in the process.
Bye for now 🙂
