Now that you have learned what to do and how to do it, let us look at some of the fundamentals of being self-employed. Obviously you are choosing to do this because either your situation has forced you to look at self-employment as an option or you are genuinely ready to step out of working for other people and into working for yourself. Should you choose to continue along this path you will need to develop what I call ‘The Mindset of a Businessperson’.  It will require you to regularly set goals and put the action steps into place in order to achieve those goals, it will require you to become responsible, and it will require you to be fully accepting of yourself and all your limitations. Follow Up Program

After the first service to a new client it is recommended that you do a follow-up to see whether they were happy with your work. That way you can do your best to solve any problems that may have occurred due to lack of communication or whatever. If they were happy with your work then simply pencil them in to service again in 7 or 14 days time. Or, in the case of 3 monthly services like window cleaning you should place the client’s details under the month that they were serviced, and place a reminder to yourself to phone again to see if they would like their windows to be re-serviced when next needed. For this type of service you would call after about two months from the date of the first service in order to reschedule the client for their next service. Continue reading
