What to Tell your Client During the Initial Phone Conversation
Before we start, here are some tips to give to your clients when they phone to book a massage.
Prior to their first massage, most people have a worried dialogue going on in their head that goes something like this: “Gosh, I don’t want to take absolutely everything off just yet until I feel safe that this massage therapist (whom I’ve never met before) isn’t going to do anything inappropriate. Will they be able to work well if I leave my knickers on? Will I get a good massage if I do that? Am I a prude not to take off my knickers? Will my knickers get in the way of her (or him) working on my buttocks and lower back?” In answer to questions like this, the answer to all of those questions is “no”, however, you’re also not going to get a good massage if you can’t relax, so just do whatever you need to do for now. Being a service provider in the Beauty Industry requires many skills, for example: providing hair removal in the form of laser treatments and waxing; nail extensions; manicures; pedicures; eyelash tinting and eyebrow shaping, facials, makeup and massage. You may already know a little about how to provide these services, or this could be your first introduction to work within this field. Whatever the case, rest assured that you can build a very nice income from these repeat services without having to become fully qualified as a Beautician.
The very first thing you will need to develop is your ability to handle the inquiries as and when they come in. The way you do this will determine how many of your inquiries turn into bookings.
There are a few very simple techniques to follow in order to maximise the number of bookings you make from the marketing and promotions that you will do. If you follow these guidelines you will turn a high percentage of your inquiries into bookings. It will then be up to how well you do your work as to whether or not your client decides to return to see you again.

You may like to ask when to begin your new Beauty Clinic. Well, there are definitely certain times of the year that are better to commence your marketing than others, and I would never suggest commencing your business during a school holiday period. You will discover these times of the year to be so slow regarding business that you may you feel that you are to blame for there being no inquiries, when in fact at this time of the year you have very little control over the number of incoming calls and bookings.
These are your beauty business telephone techniques. The telephone is often the first point of contact with your client, therefore it is very important to handle this introduction to yourself and your services well. It is the first place where you will practice the skills known as selling.
